GIS Software and Support:

GRAIL provides Geographic Information System (GIS), Remote Sensing, and 3D Modeling resources for faculty, staff and students at Northern Arizona University.
Once fully equipped, GRAIL's infrastructure will consist of a 24 seat computer lab, a Geowall II for high resolution visualization and video conferencing, and mobile wireless computing equipment for laboratory and field-based geospatial computing. The training lab is used for in-house workshops, training sessions, university credited courses, and provides computer facilities for GIS interns. Other state of the art technology for GIS applications will include mobile wireless devices, tablet computers, a high resolution GPS unit, and ultra mobile personal computers.

The GRAIL hosts:
ArcInfo 9.3     ERDAS IMAGINE 9.1      ENVI 4.6      Land Change Modeler Extension

NAU affiliates can use the lab for compiling and digitizing spatial and attribute data, interpreting geologic and geophysical data, and producing publication-quality maps and figures. For more information about the GRAIL training lab contact
