Welcome to the Grail Data Repository. If you are affiliated with NAU, our spatial datasets are available via a connection service called ArcSDE. If you are not affiliated with NAU, or need access to data that we do not have online, e-mail us at mpcer@nau.edu.

Accessing Spatial Data via the Geodatabase (What data do we have?)
Initializing a SDE database:
1.  Open ArcMap, click on the Add Data button. Or open ArcCatalog
2.  Scroll down to Database Connections.
3.  Double click on Add Spatial Database Connection, (See example dialog box below)
4.  Fill out the Spatial Database Connection Dialog box:  Databases are organized by state, below is a      table showing information needed to access each state.
5. Account: click Operating System Authentication
6.  Keep Connection details: sde.DEFAULT
7.  Test the connection, click OK.

You only need to do this once per computer, as the database shows up in the directory automatically on subsequent visits
